Because for most of my professional career, I use Excel to create various trackers and I always add the filter feature because these are always large data sets that nobody wants to look at in their entirety all the time.

In reply to ElliottRook. I am guessing you work for a smaller organization. Where I work we get thousands of applications for entry-level positions, and sometimes for more senior ones depending on the job. We do not have the resources to have people review them all. The alternative to having a machine do the first sort is to cut off applications after a certain number – the options I got last time I advertised one were cut off after 50 or 100.

The entire point of a classified safe is that anything inside it is treated as classified. If you see someone handling material from such a location in a manner not appropriate for classified materials, you contact Security.

The point is that a classified safe can be handled as classified material *without knowing what’s inside it*. Unclassified material in there, that one would want to handle differently, defeats the purpose. When I worked at Los Alamos we had different colored cables for classified and unclassified networks.

Whenever they had a request that I couldn’t accommodate immediately, I would say “Yes, I’d be happy to help! Just let me finish [X task] and [Y task] and I’ll be right with you!” My coworkers would say “No, I cant right now, I have to [do task X and Y], but I can help you later!

If I’m emailing bob at mycompany.com … through to victor at, it’s a PITA to rearrange them to match the org chart and that’s before we get into how people on the same level get ordered. I had a coworker who would microwave fish about three times a year* and every time, the first smell to reach me smelled more like body odor than fish and then the smell gradually became more fishy and less gross (but still a little gross to me, because the first whiffs I got smelled like BO). It felt like the smell lingered for a long time, but realistically it probably wasn’t longer than 10-15 minutes.
