Procuring and setting up an office space can run as much as $5,000 for just the technology (i.e., a computer, monitor, keyboard, speakers, camera, headset, multi-function printer/photocopier, phone, and software licenses). Add another several hundred dollars for a decent desk and officechair.
Frustrated, I happened upon a website last week that offered to evaluate my resume and ran it through an artificial intelligence software that it claims many companies use to screen applicants. Asking for a new officechair when you’re too short for the one provided I have a quibble I’d love your take on.
If you’re already having audio-video problems, I’m guessing you probably have this sort of startup process for online synchronous teaching: Sit down in an officechair with a laptop on a table in front of you wherever seems convenient. Open Zoom/OBS/whatever Click Record / Start Meeting Blasphemy!
