I thought that if I consulted with another psychiatrist to alter my medication, I would eventually feel almost human. He diagnosed me with ‘Major Depressive Disorder’ after a twenty-minute consultation and prescribed me my first ‘antidepressant’, Venlafaxine. My children were home playing on their computers in their rooms.
