How can I get a coworker to take computer classes? Jane is basically computer illiterate. At first I just thought she wasn’t used to Microsoft Office products, but the more I work with her the more I’m certain Jane’s only used a computer for typing and maybe tallying a spreadsheet. Here we go….
An administrative assistant usually has fewer years of experience and needs to be organized, pleasant, and have good computerskills, but again doesn’t need the leadership capabilities. They will also interview you to make sure all of the important jobs responsibilities are included.
My role, however, is primarily business-oriented, meaning that I don’t have any kind of technical computerskills (yet) and would be mostly useless even if something did go wrong with the system. I have been job searching for about six months and recently a potential employer reached out to me for an interview.
Her skills with our internal system and knowledge are top notch and if the rest of this could change, I could see her blossoming. If an opportunity presents itself, I am not sure her computerskills would be up to par and, frankly, her attitude makes it difficult to want to see her in a position I could possibly hire for.
