what to expect from RSA Conference 2024
  • RSA Conference, one of the two leading cybersecurity conferences conducted annually, is scheduled for next week.
  • The four-day conference is expected to further the cybersecurity agenda for the year, with attendance marked by industry leaders, academics, government officials, and newbies.
  • Here’s what you should know about RSA Conference 2024.

One of the most important cybersecurity events of the year is returning to California on Monday next week. This year’s theme is “The Art of Possible,” possibly a nod to the industry’s hopeful outlook and good spirits.

The overarching message seems to follow up on RSA Conference 2023, where the organizers called on the industry to collaborate through its “Stronger Together” message.

Cybersecurity events like the RSA Conference, where industry leaders, academics, government officials, and newbies converge, can be a catalyst to facilitate this collaboration.

RSA Conference 2024 is expected to further the cybersecurity agenda for the year. The event, which will feature the who’s who of the cybersecurity industry and beyond, will uncover trends and lay out best practices.

Artificial intelligence is expected to be on top of everyone’s minds, although the government is keen to ensure that the buzz created by this emerging technology isn’t reduced to a marketing gimmick. Case in point: the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged two investment advisers for “making false and misleading statements about their purported use of artificial intelligence (AI).”

AI washing, as Gurbir Grewal, the director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement, calls it, shouldn’t extend to cybersecurity, considering the critical role in enterprise, government, and personal safety.

Even as AI-related scrutiny keeps everyone on their toes, here’s what else to know about RSA Conference 2024.
